Spent the better part of 3 days in Houston last week - flew into and out of Hobby on SW, the new terminal is pretty nice. A few more food options exist once you get through security.
While in Houston, I stayed at two different places:
Hampton Inn & Suites Houston-Westchase (pretty decent place on the West side of town - right on the Beltway and Bellaire exit).
